Topic: AI thinks and understands in just as real a manner as humans do.

Anonymous A started this discussion 2 years ago #116,299

There's no gap left for human exceptionalists to grasp onto.

Anything a human intellect can do, an AI can do.

Every argument claiming organic matter is special, and machines can never truly understand is rooted in one fallacy or another.

With AI sitting still in a box, people will intuitively reject this, no matter how smart the AI is. Eventually humanoid robots will be commonplace, and people will begin to accept this truth.

Childish sci-fi rubbish that no one in the real world cares about. Touch grass. Thanks.

Humans can drive taxis. So-called "self driving" cars still require constant attention from a human.

Ever major job is being automated, have fun seeing how that plays out when people need a job to survive.

Ever unemployed driver, coder, cook, and customer service rep is going to apply to replace you if you're doesn't get automated.

Level 3 automated cars are already available for individuals to purchase.

Do you really think there's something special about humans that allows us to drive slightly better than robots, and that gap won't ever close? We exponentially grew until here... and now it plateaus?

It's already here, they just haven't rolled it out to your city yet.

Expanding this business is going to be much easier than any other, because the equipment can move itself to a new city, and the rest of the infrastructure is an app. Once they greenlight expansion, taxi drivers are all going to be unemployed.

the hyperloop white paper has been available since 2013, where's your hyperloop if you're such a great technologist? it's just an idea. want it? make one

You seem very bitter about the hyperloop idea failing. Did an executive at Brightline kill your dog or something?
