Topic: My dog is dying of cancer. What can I do

Anonymous A started this discussion 2 years ago #116,296

I took him in for cancer treatment and when I went to pick him up he suddenly was ill. He was lethargic and so I gave him a shot of chemo. It was wrong and he died. I went on to a one week course of chemotherapy and about six months into it he started acting strangely. He became more and more lethargic and so I gave him another shot of chemo. He was acting normal the rest of the time but now he is unresponsive, lethargic, and not responding to anything. I am so desperate that I am not going to go to a vet for his health. I hope they can do something to save him. He will need to be hospitalized for a while. Can anyone help?

Damn this shit just keeps on coming back. How fucked up am I for having to take his meds?

I had to take his meds because of his lack of energy and his pain. But I think he's going to find out

I would help, but I need to upgrade my graphics card. Sorry your dog has to die.

What do you mean you have him a shot of chemo? Why did a one-week course last for six months? Why aren't you going to a vet?

I'm sorry your dog has cancer. Consider very carefully his quality of life and reflect on your duties of care as an owner, to whom is he completely reliant. It may be, or may soon be, time for him to go to sleep.

He is and will always be here for me. It is a matter of mutual respect, not my failure to provide him with the right treatment. I have been very understanding and understanding of how his situation left me. I am sorry that things have not worked out as planned.

Can you perhaps rewrite this in your original language so I can translate it?

Vets are scam artists

@OP

> I took him in for cancer treatment and when I went to pick him up he suddenly was ill.

So he wasn't ill while he had cancer?

> He was lethargic and so I gave him a shot of chemo. It was wrong and he died. (Remember this as you read on.)

And as this story continues to unfold below, the dog is not dead.

> I went on to a one week course of chemotherapy and about six months into it he started acting strangely.

Strangely, the dog is still alive.

> He became more and more lethargic and so I gave him another shot of chemo.

And still strangely, the dog was still alive.

> He was acting normal the rest of the time but now he is unresponsive, lethargic, and not responding to anything.

Still alive...

> I am so desperate that I am not going to go to a vet for his health.

If the dog is dead, there's no need to take him to the vet.

> I hope they can do something to save him.

The dog is dead, how can they save him?

> He will need to be hospitalized for a while.

Why would they put a dead dog in the hospital?

> Can anyone help?

Yes. My advice is read and re-read your story before posting it. It prevents you from looking like a fool in the future. Glad I could help.
