I'm not an Obama fan. I don't like his economic policies. I do, however, support a number of his social policy views such as gay marriage and whatnot.

Here's the issue I get: Some of the republicans do understand economics better than Obama ever could hope to. But, they're all batshit crazy bible-bashers who don't like science and who think religion solves all problems (in this nation founded upon Christianity). I understand the need for a strong economic president, but at the same time you shouldn't forego actual intelligence. There's no telling how far this country could be set back in terms of civil liberties and scientific understanding under one of the republicans running.

I just wish there was a candidate who understands economics while also being rational. I can vote in the next election, and I'm actually not sure if I'll be voting. As it stands, I hate them all.

That's (possibly) one example. In China people are beaten and imprisoned for criticising the government or Communist Party officials. Torture and "forced disappearances" are routine.
