No matter how you feel, bitcoin has the BTC ticker name. It's the only BTC. By convention the fork with more proof of work in the period shortly after forking remains as bitcoin. "Your side" lost in 2017, if someone wants to keep mining on a losing fork that's on them. Taproot was an unrelated and uncontentious upgrade to the real bitcoin.
