To "repair her reputation" according to the courts.

She wouldn't make $5 million in her entire life, how can anyone say something so bad that you need several lifetimes of income to be whole again?

I'd let someone say shit twice as bad about me for a measly $1 million.

Most of it was punitive damages, meaning the jury wanted to punish Trump for his abhorrent behavior.

> Most of it was punitive damages,
Sounds like an extremely barbaric criminal justice system then. Why is it all the countries that focus on rehabilitation and recovery and not punitive measures have such low crime recidivism rates?

Oh, I agree. But in the system we do have, inferior as it is, I am glad that fucker finally faces some consequences for his evil.

This is the exact attitude that holds your country where it is.

But how can you disempower political opponents in such a system?

Start questioning the legitimacy of elections that don't produce the results you want?

Good idea, maybe just blame the Russians for the unfavorable results and hope the attitudes built up in the cold war are enough to carry it.
