Topic: Rishi Sunak tells his own head of the UK Army to take a deep breath and shut the fuck up (HILARIOUS)

Father Dave !RsSxeehGwc started this discussion 2 years ago #115,655

This is absolutely priceless.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/jan/24/army-chief-says-people-of-uk-are-prewar-generation-who-must-be-ready-to-fight-russia

tl:dr version:

Rishi Sunak (every single day from February 24th 2022 to January 24th 2024): "WE HAVE TO SUPPORT UKRAINE OR ELSE THE RUSSIAN ARMY WILL ROLL ACROSS EUROPE AND OUR OWN CHILDREN WILL HAVE TO FIGHT THEM!!! THIS IS NOT A REGIONAL CONFLICT CONFINED TO UKRAINE, THIS IS ABOUT GLOBAL FREEDOM ITSELF!!!"

Head of the British Army (January 25th): "Yeah ok, so then we need to place the British people, who are the prewar generation, on a whole-of-society war footing to be ready to fight Russia"

Rishi Sunak: "Woooah woah woah dude, chill the fuck out here, all that "If we don't funnel more cash to Action Man then Putin's gonna invade NATO" is just some horseshit we and the Yanks spew out to keep the EU nicely bankrupting itself. This Ukraine crap is just a regional conflict, nothing more"

I love it when politicians are inadvertently forced into admitting their narrative is a load of shit meant to keep a money-laundering operation going.

Lol'd also at the thought of tough guy Sunak and his 'army' of 74,000 soldiers (that's how many Ukranian soldiers Russia kills every 3 and a half months) taking on Russia's 1.3 million soldiers. Be funny as fuck if the Yanks ever leave the Brits to fend for themselves after all the enemies around the world they've made over the centuries.

Sheer numbers don't mean much unless you think North Korea is a truly formidable opponent. Their paramilitary component alone is nearly 6,000,000!

Don't post a fishing JPEG or I'll cry.

Do you think its unethical to give North Korea tourism money?

> Sheer numbers don't mean much

They do when you're talking about a country with 1.3 million soldiers, 7000 nuclear warheads, 130 million people and a near-inexhaustible supply of weapons taking on plucky old England, which has 74,000 soldiers, 200-odd nuclear warheads, and a bunch of planes and ships they aren't allowed to fuel up unless their masters in Washington allow them to.

They do talk a big fight though, safe (for now) under Uncle Sam's protection.

Still can't stop laughing at Sunak telling Sanders that speculating about "hypothetical future wars is not helpful" when literally Sunak's entire shtick as Prime Minister has been to keep the British taxpayers' money flowing to Action Man with threats of hypothetical future war scenarios if anyone objects to it.

You'd think a country with 1.3 million soldiers, 7000 nuclear warheads, 130 million people and a near-inexhaustible supply of weapons would be faring better taking on a country run by a comedian.

I can't wait for the day 1.3 million underequipped alcoholics arrive in Britain. Maybe they'll take the Kuznetsov. 😂😂😂

It takes time, moy droog.

Figured there was no way the UK only had 75K soldiers, but it's true!

And there's still 4K Gurkhas lol.

I guess the point is that with the Navy and NATO everything should be tip top if there's an invasion

EDIT: the NYPD has 50K personnel!

By the way, the number you've given for Russia is for all branches of the Russian armed forces. For the UK you've given a figure that's just for the British Army.

Russian Army = 550,000
British Army = 75,000

What is the figure for "all branches of" the British armed forces?

Well? Since you want to talk TOTAL numbers here. How many can the UK cobble together?

184,000 active personnel. Russia has 830,000 active personnel out of 1,150,000 total servicemen.

Not too shabby for a country with a GDP barely ahead of Mexico.

Now, tell me why Russia hasn't been able to conquer its impoverished neighbor?

Putin must be shitting himself. Oh wait, the West's war tactic is always 50 on 1 isn't it? Can't even bomb some Houthi rebels without needing a coalition of 6 countries to do it.

You know that's what Ukraine had too, right? 196,000 active personnel?

And how has that gone for Russia? :)

*54, and I'm not sure that Bosnia and Herzegovina or Liberia or Malta can be called the "most advanced countries in the world" but I suppose when you're the Russian military even the Maltese look Herculean.

They've all been killed, along with 300,000 other recruits. Action Man is now having to grab pensioners and disabled people off the streets:

Hence my not including them. I was referring to the coalition of the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, the rest of the EU, Japan and South Korea. And Ukraine is still being smashed to fuck.

By the way, how is Israel's and the US' attempt to wipe out a piddling terrorist organisation entrapped in Gaza going?
