Topic: When texas doesn't want migrants, it's racism. When northern states don't, it's completely OK.

Anonymous A started this discussion 2 years ago #115,601

Texas should be able to fold in millions of poor people who don't speak English, but the northern states should have no obligation to contribute to the influx.

Bussing migrants is treating them like political pawns. When Biden orders border control to cut down the fencing Texas installed at the border, that isn't using them like political pawns at all, no siree.

Never understood what the big problem is. Birth rates are below replacement in the US and the population would be declining without immigration. What's worse is that among immigrants that settle in the US, within one generation their birth rates fall to the below-replacement levels of native born Americans. Not sure what people are expecting is going to happen within a few decades - the population of developed nations is going to drop off a cliff. China, Japan, and Korea are already starting to see the cracks. But let's all press on, pretend that it isn't happening, and then complain about a partial reversal of the problem?

That seems to be the attitude of snobby northerners turning up their noses when a bus full of brown people shows up in their city.

Less people means more homes available and more space available not only for the human population but for the animal population as well.

A) I'm from southern Arizona and am not unfamiliar.
B) Someone showing up somewhere is none of my or your business.

Look at how well the rust belt is doing.

> more space available
Has never been a problem. Take a flight anywhere and look out the window.

The rust belt is quickly returning to its original state of natural beauty. Biodiversity is rising, pollution is down and the ordinary working people are able to afford big houses for less money because of the low demand.

lol. Why don't we humans all agree to just kill ourselves and all species so the earth can turn back into its original, natural, beautifully lifeless state as a barren rock floating through space?

> and the ordinary working people are able to afford big houses for less money because of the low demand.
You sound like you've never been to the rust belt.

Planetary biospheres don't work the way you think they work. My amusement is almost palpable.

Are those Northern states, praytell, putting razor wire in rivers and just watching as children get cut up and drown?

Why are children floating in on the river instead of at a border checkpoint? Are those "children" actually grown men claiming to not have paperwork?

No, they are not. How preposterous to even think that.

If they aren't floating through the river, then it sounds like getting cut up and drowned in a river is a non-issue.
