These flies aren't ordinary, they're wild and rife,
They hang in sub-Saharan Africa, causing strife.
With bites that give a disease, quite nasty,
Trypanosomiasis, or African sleeping sickness, truly fastidious.
But here's the kicker, these flies have quite the nose,
They can smell the CO2 that we exhale, and it shows.
They think, "Ah, blood is near!" with deadly flair,
A sense of smell so keen, it's only fair.
Tsetse flies, the only ones who give birth to live young,
No eggs or larvae, just baby flies sprung.
A wild way of reproducing, quite the pro,
These buggy rockstars, spreading diseases, in the glow.
So, let's give it up for these tsetse flies,
With senses so sharp, and babies in such high supply.
A true marvel of the natural world, in all their might,
Tsetse flies, the stars, shining bright in the night.
