If so, could you post about any complaints you had with it, the cost to maintain it, how many miles/kilometers it had or has, and if you would recommend one?

they are a bit harder to start in winter than gasoline engines, and i hated waiting till the air warmed up
they make more smoke and noise than gasoline engines
diesel is more expensive than gasoline

So far I've only driven diesels, and I can't complain. From what I've gathered they're slightly easier to work with but more expensive.

I havent driven a heated car since before high school, so waiting for Heat/AC is better than not having it.

I live a stones throw away from a CO-OP, and they sell untaxed diesel there.

I just figured it was because the price of diesel is usually pretty stable, compared to the volatility of gasoline prices.

Bottom line: Overall it's a negative experience unless you drive a fucking lot of miles in a year.
I don't where the exact break even point would be, but if I had to guess I'd say it's over 30k a year. Maybe then you'll begin to offset the additional expenses.
