It was a Ukrainian councillor, not a Russian, and it happened in a village in Western Ukraine, not Russia.

Took less than 20 seconds to fact check. Media literacy is completely and utterly dead in the West.

not a terrible idea

yeah but russia likes this tactic, in prague against democracy in 1968, hungary 1956, and nato 2022 altho they were planning missiles in ukraine so u can say they had reasons

So you understand how the classification works and yet you say it doesn't just because you disagree with it? This is clear evidence of "special snowflake" syndrome.

Amusing update to this story: the guy who tossed the grenades is Sergey Batryn, who is from Zelenskiy's "Servant of the People" party. Kyiv Independent reports that he had been arguing for months with fellow councillors in the town of Keretsky about a pay increase for the council’s leader (another member of Zelenskiy's party). He was unhappy that the town was suffering extreme water problems while the head of a utility company, a close buddy of the council's head, was lining his pockets with hundreds of thousands of dollars meant to help the people.
Keep cracking down on that corruption, Action Man!
Needless to say none of the #SlavaUkraini retards on reddit will have bothered to find any of this out.

It appears the "Western media" was correct. You should be criticizing OP instead.
Also, I don't see your point in arguing this. Do you really believe a country that can afford to fund multiple foreign wars out of spite cares about your opinion?

I have said nothing about the "Western media" so kindly put those quotation marks back up your arse.
Bless you for the input, friend!
Speaking of "Western media" however, here's a New York Times article from today. Ukraine is now so desperate for soldiers they are snatching men off the street, confiscating their passports, and sending mentally disabled men to the front lines:

More hilarity from the Western mainstream media:
https://edition.cnn.com/ukraine-war-us-eu-analysis/index.html
For 18 months now Nick Patton Walsh has been gaslighting his CNN readers with delusional tales of how well the war is going for Ukraine and that is why American taxpayers need to keep betting their money on this sure thing.
Today...he's chastising everyone for not accurately describing how utterly shit things are for Ukraine. I quote:
"Ukraine is developing a “drowning not waving” problem. It is struggling to say clearly how badly the war is going"
Actually, Nick, Ukrainian soldiers have been saying for a year now "how badly the war is going". You just chose to ignore them and focus instead on that NATO salesman Zelenskiy's delusional fantasies about 'victory'.
"Ukraine’s acutely bad presentation of its troubles is mostly due to the myopia of its allies. The lack of understanding in parts of US Congress is breathtaking"
Idiot who's spent 18 months peddling patently false Zelenskian propaganda says what now?
More:
"Yet in truth, the most useful headline for Kyiv should be how unutterably bleak the frontlines are for them now. In nearly every direction, the news is grim"
Yeah, their soldiers have been saying this for a year and you've been deliberately ignoring them to keep your readers divorced from reality and maintain the steady flow of their tax dollars to CNN's 'advertisers' in the, *ahem*, 'aviation industry'.
And more...
"The bleak military picture for Ukraine was the case before Congress stalled US aid. Now the challenge ahead – the possibility Ukraine may face Russia without NATO backing – weighs on the minds of those who should be focused on the winter battles ahead"
It was bleak BEFORE America stalled the aid? Not according to you it wasn't, Nick. According to you, as recently as earlier this week, Ukraine was kicking 7 shades of shit out of Russia and was on course for victory. Now the cash to your sponsors has dried up and you're singing a different tune? What superlative "journalism".
Have a blessed day to all my #SlavaUkraini pals on here!
