I just had the same exact experience the other day. I was looking up a technical video from the product manufacturer's youtube channel and they had to have this generic rock music playing over the narration. Yeah. I get it. It's mechanical! Wow so cool! Just give me the info without all the extra horseshit.
People make videos for everything these days when a few paragraphs of text with maybe an image or diagram or two would be so much more efficient for almost anything that's supposed to be instructional and not entertainment. I can skim an article, but can't as quickly skip through a video without knowing if I'm missing something.
I can't wait for all these shitheads to discover tiktok. If you think things can't be more shitty, well, you're wrong.

Yes indeed -- and just lately for the xth time, I want to watch an academic terminology youtube video, and the fucker is narrated by a text-to-speech. Fucking hell I hate that shit. I get the impression a lot of those are generated in India where they figure their own voice is too shit at English, I don't know.
Every time I get into the text2speech territory, I also find that the grammar and phrasing is often broken and weirdly said. No question these are written by people with only very basic English fluency.

I was trying to figure out what the fuck species of plants I see are, and the guides to identification are heavy into the terms so from time to time I like to get more solid on that. I do that with anything on a whim

I've found that lots of different governments, national and smaller, publish pdfs of guides to species of their area, to weeds, to what they call alien plants. They classify weeds by severity, from prohibited level to merely nuisance. In places, by law you have to report and deal with certain weeds.

@previous (boof)
Is that why you're looking into it? Do you have some invasive species on your property or something?
In warmer places I've read even house plants like the beloved pothos can become invasive and take over nearly every tree it can get a hold of if released outside. All the good things you'd want from a house plant, like doing well in low lighting, quick growth, living in non-ideal conditions can really turn on you. Who wouldda thought
