It’s because Israel is a essentially a Western European democracy surrounded by a bunch of non-white Muslim nations who weren’t clearly on the US side during the Cold War so us policy has titled in favor of Israel

Nonsense. What happened in South Africa was completely different. The US and the rest of the west was always against South Africa's apartheid regime, and imposed heavy sanctions. They sided with the ANC even though they were clearly communists (as stated in their manifesto) and largely ignored their terrorist activities.
