So the source is a "partisan group calling itself the Crimea Combat Seagulls" as quoted via a Telegram channel with less than a dozen followers. But hey, anything to keep the reality of Ukraine's situation out of the mainstream media a little while longer!

I know nothing about this instance, but I remember a
tonne of similar stories out of Syria and Iraq. It seems like a common trope. "Elderly woman serves ISIS poisoned tea, kills 50" and "Rebels sneak into camp posing as chefs and poison 100s" and so on.
And the reporting always quoted some unnamed source, or obscure Syrian opposition blog, or an armed group's anonymous spokesperson, or a Twitter "activist" or Telegram channel or whatever.
Media literacy is in the shitter.
