Yeah, don't bother locking down all the items. Replace the items on shelves with QR codes and an app to build your cart. Instead of loss prevention officers and cashiers, hire item pickers who bring out your goods once you pay.

I do too. People are spoiled nowadays and expect to be able to choose their own things before paying for them, or to just walk around and "browse". That's one of the reasons why people struggle with cost of living, because instead of going in with a list and having the man get the stuff they ask for, they're instead walking past hundreds of impulse buys before getting to the tins of beans.
