Topic: my new invention of special interest to software developers, user experience

OK, it seems all the software has two display modes: light, and dark. My invention: a slider that lets you have whatever the fuck you want in between instead of two fucking extreme choices.

UI design is so poor that I almost always prefer terminal-based programs when available. Text editing, programming, calendars, system management, chat, and email are all better suited for the terminal. Same should be said for web browsing, at least the more text-centric kind that I do most of, but modern web design "standards" have fucked that up and made it damn near impossible.

No GUI is ever going to beat the terminal for text-centric functions, which is most of what I do. The font size, window size, coloring, font, and everything about it can be customized easily and at any time.

Plus, terminal programs are incredibly accessible for the blind and visually impaired, almost with no additional thought from the developer. But who gives a shit about accessibility and user experience. Better to spend more time developing an inferior and inaccessible product.
