Topic: Are you on team Erik or team Dave?

Erik !saAqdaazn2 started this discussion 2 years ago #114,054

Team Erik is for Ukraine defending themselves against tyranny and for Palestine to be free.

Dave is for Russia to be given the freedom to dominant their neighbours and for Israel to keep Palestine as the world's largest prison.

I don't think it's as black and white as this.

Besides, "to dominant" is not a verb.

More accurately:

Team Svet is for endless war because it entertains him while he's having a pedicure, drinking expensive craft bear, and doing lines of coke. He absolutely could not give a single fuck about Ukrainians or Palestinians. War, death and carnage amuse him, nothing more.

Team Dave is for peace negotiations to begin immediately between Russia and Ukraine, at the end of which both countries will have to make concessions from their current maximalist positions. Team Dave also hopes the Palestinians kick the ever-loving shit out of the IDF and their fascist leaders like Netanyahu.

Vote away people!

You're talking to a guy who gets his world view from reddit clips and Daily Mail headlines.

Out of interest, what made you change your mind?

That post was sarcastic, I was taking the piss out of America and the UK killing Ukraine as a country within 2 years by lying to them about protecting them "for as long as it takes".

Right.

By the way, where do you stand on Hamas? Note, not asking about Palestine or the Palestinians, but very specifically Hamas. Do you want Israel to beat Hamas, or do you want Hamas to survive?

Well first and foremost Hamas isn't going anywhere, in the sense that Hamas represent a set of ideas that will continue to exist so long as Palestinians are treated as 2nd class citizens in their own home. If the West were capable of ever learning anything from their endless "democracy" exporting adventures it would be that something (usually worse) always replaces the "terrorists" you've set out to kill, because all you're ever doing is creating more of the same conditions in which terrorism is fostered in the first place.

Respect international law as it pertains to the Palestinian people and Hamas will die naturally over time, as more or less the IRA did in the UK once concessions were made. This ground war 'Israel' is planning will not kill Hamas. In fact I have a feeling it will be the IDF's Bakhmut and Mariupol rolled into one.

Good point, except I don't see leaders of Hamas or other similar terrorist organisations (I don't think it's going out on a limb to remove the quotation marks - let's call a spade a spade) that may very well arise from the power vacuum ever meeting with and negotiating with Israeli leaders, in the same way, say, Martin McGuinness met with the Queen (despite the fact that the IRA blew up members of her family, so she had every reason to hate them and refuse such a meetimg). This kind of detente I think is a crucial ingredient in the sort of natural, peaceful resolution you are suggesting could happen.

It's in their very charter:

Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement.

...

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with.

It's also highly amusing to me to hear someone who thinks stinky niggers and gypsies need to be kicked out of London vocally supporting Palestine.

No, but it's irrelevant because Ukraine's counteroffensive will have reached Moscow by Christmas.

I can't wait to see how 'pro-Palestinian' Svet is when half a million "smelly niggers" show up at Dover asking for asylum.

Both of these teams have their good points and bad points. But the main point is that we are all, ultimately, playing for the same team: Team Minichan.

Quelle surprise, a pro-Ukrainian who has no idea what he's talking about.

I suggest you look up Action Man's comical "10 Point Peace Formula", wherein he lists his demands. Among them is the literally impossible return to 1991 borders, alongside war crimes tribunals, reparations, Russian military disarmament and lots more hilarity. He also signed a law last October making it illegal for any Ukrainian to negotiate peace with Putin...

https://nypost.com/2022/10/04/zelensky-signs-law-declaring-talks-with-putin-impossible/

It's almost like his handlers in Washington want the war to continue until the last Ukrainian.
