Liberia... a homeland for American blacks, created because white Americans wanted a "final solution" to the "problem" of black freedmen finding their footing in the states. This was before slavery ended, before "40 acres and a mule". The 1822 movement succeeded in relocating over 15,000 black freedmen.

Eerily similar to the creation of Israel.

Whether it's a good thing or not depends on your perspective. It's the US giving itself money.

As for AIPAC, they help guarantee US support for Israel but... does it need it? No. Israel would be fine without US money or weapons or political capital. It helps, of course they benefit, but to say Israel's success comes down to it is just... l o l.
