Because the UNITED States of America are one. We need one another. We even need obese Mexicans without a college degree who clean hotel rooms in Houston. Everyone matters.

I would be quite happy for Texas to secede. I would prefer it to be just Texas but I'm open to discussing other Southern states in it as well.

Texas is bigger (in surface area, population, and GDP) than many sovereign countries. We also have natural resources that other countries may be interested in purchasing like natural gas and oil and stuff.

Texas has Houston and Dallas and Austin. Those have their advantages. The rest is a flat dusty prairie peppered with one street towns run by inbred toothless KKK members.

Couldn't you say that about any state? Sure New York has NYC but the rest of the state is toothless hillbillies. California has SF and LA but the rest of the state is toothless Mexicans. Illinois has Chicago but the rest of the state...

Texas is like the second or third largest state, meaning the amount of toothless redneck land is much more than other states.
This is funny coming from a guy who wants to go to the redneck, toothless hillbilly state of Texas to meet a guy, and take him out to dinner. Sounds like you're a homo there Matt.

Oh yeah an independent Texas would also be 100% self sufficient in oil, natural gas, and electricity production. This would greatly ease foreign policy because we could once and forever tell the Persian Gulf to get fucked and ignore the Middle East like the good old days.
And yeah you'll laugh this off with something like "muh hillbillies" but think about how much leverage this gives Russia: we absolutely physically cannot, short of a hot war, cut off their supply of oil and gas!

Will never happen. The world will sooner move to renewables.
Although one thing Texas does have going for them is having its own power grid. Gotta be ready to secede at any minute, for well over a century now.

Fortunately not all countries have foreign and domestic policies quite as brain-dead as Germany's, for instance.

With the quality of y'all's current infrastructure, I doubt it's feasible. Go a year in a row without statewide electrical issues. Same with the quality of anything oil and gas. Texas has a lot of lower standards that allow everytiong to be cheaper and fuck up more often. Enjoy the potholes in your roads
What is the point in arguing over the possibility of any state seceding from the Union, when literally no one here would do anything if it actually happened?
