Go to the old reddit interface old.reddit.com, click on their profile and click "get them help and support". Reddit will send them an entirely automated message describing how people care about them and they shouldn't kill themselves.
I do this with everyone I get into an argument with, which is everyone I interact with on that platform. Often people will then be compelled to go through my profile and pull up things I've said in entirely unrelated discussions. That shows me that they care and we share a mutual concern for each others well-being. Reddit has a way of bringing people together. It brings a tear to my eye.

at least a silver lining was that a previous lie about David Bowie that I heard months ago was debunked in that thread when it was repeated
not that it matters, he was a famous rock star living all that depravity just like all the rest and no one cared because the general public behaved every bit as poorly on average (and still does)
