Topic: I don't understand how people think Disney being 'woke' is anything new.

Disney was always sort of about morals of acceptance and tolerance in their media since before 'woke' even existed. The Hunchback of Notre Dame alone was a movie that featured a 'freak' as the protagonist, an oppressed people (gypsies), a villain who was from the church, a song about said villain praying to God or the Virgin Mary (?) about having a gypsy girl love him or else have her burn in eternal hellfire, and a song that is about outcasts.
The famous Disneyland attraction, It's A Small World After All, which first opened in 1966. Is literally a ride that highlights the different ethnic and cultural backgrounds of people from around the world. All of which cumulates in sending riders into a white room where all of these people dressed in white co-exist peacefully thus symbolizing the afterlife and a peaceful reminder that despite our differences, we all die in the end.
Disney has also been very quick to demise their two great Satans. Sound of the South (1946), which immediately became what the Star Wars Holiday Special was to George Lucas. White Wilderness also being one of the company's great Satans.
So, yeah, only now are people realizing this about Disney media?

Stick a knife into your wrist and drag up towards your elbow. Use as much force as possible. Once finished, repeat.
Seriously. Do it now. Right fucking now. This is not a joke.
If you complete all the steps above, then take the knife and make a deep incision starting at the back of your neck, midway in height between your shoulder and your ear and drag around to the front. Once you're past your ear, keep going until you reach the mid-line of your throat. As always, use as much force as possible.

I should fully watch Song of the South sometime. I'd probably appreciate it for the simply entertainment value of animation and song, giving wider societal context a little bit of thought but not too much

Ahem, now the movie The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. The woke part in that is that uhh so what happens is somehow a student (who wears athletic footwear, supposedly a marker of youth in the time that the move was made), gains the capabilities of a mainframe computer that required punch card input though I'm sure it had huge reel-to-reel magnetic tape storage also. Ahhh the value of well funded public schools, yeah.
