There’s actually a lot of people who do it and they’re not all trans.
Most of them just use their normal voices.

You do realize that vtubers stream games like any other streamer, right? And the movements are just tied to your movements. No pulling strings.

Just ignore kook. She's had antagonism towards every trans person here. She used to be explicit in her views that trans women are not women. Now she claims otherwise, yet all the antagonism she had for you seems to remain. Really makes you wonder where her heart really is. It just follows the money. Half-heartedly at that.

Nope. It's a bunch of extra work. And then you've got to perform the character on top of that. If you're just going to sit there why wear a puppet suit?
Vtubing is a performative art. It doesn't just do all those little expressions, you have to trigger them either by making outsized gestures and expressions on your actual body and/or pressing buttons you've rigged up.
These naysayer shitheads are the same people that doubted countless other inventors, entertainers, and innovators all throughout history. If we listened to them we'd all be living in caves and rubbing sticks together.
See someone branching out with thoughts of improving their life condition along with the lives of others? Cut them down!

In short, they're streamers who overlay their bodies with 3D avatars that move and speak as they do, often this also involves role-playing as a character. Vtuber is short for "virtual YouTuber", so called because they're playing characters who are virtual.
It's mostly a weeaboo thing, and most of the avatars they use are anime-likd designs. It's kinda niche, I guess, I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it.

Okay, but you are still animating a virtual puppet. It's extra work. And it's not actually as easy as setting up webcam tracking and off you go. It's going to be a barrier to getting started as a streamer. Why not just slap up a PNG and be a pngtuber to get started?
