Since I've started job hunting, I've discovered that I can't say application properly. It usually comes out as "appcation", somehow. Not sure if it's my accent or some weird quirk of mine. Anyone else have any weird speech impediments?

Yeh, I can't pronounce R properly but I can roll my Rs since I speak another language where that's normal. So words like 'rural' with two Rs to pronounce I'd rather avoid and I say 'countryside' instead. LOLS.

I have a bad speech impediment that mangles most "hard" sounds. Aside from being completely unable to say words like "key" or "kit" without it coming out as "tea" or... not "kit," it induces noticeable slurring in everything I say. It's very had to enunciate any specific sound clearly for me. I'm still intelligible most of the time, but it makes me sound like an idiot.
I think that's why I prefer talking via text so much more. I can articulate everything that I want to say perfectly clearly without having to worry about tripping over anything coming out of my mouth.

Hmm. Like, the way different people say certain words, like... ._. I can't think of any. Sometimes I'll enunciate really well, sometimes I don't really say any consonants but I'm still somehow understandable. OH. Like. "ain't you" versus "are you not".
Also, sometimes I'll use big words and good grammar, sometimes I'll go with redneck words. Sort of. Less redneck, more...idiot.

I kind of get that. I've been told that I sound quite posh (but then, one guy who said that was from Manchester :P) but sometimes the Cornish accent takes over and I'll be saying things like "'ere" and "'elicopter"

That happens to me more times than I'd care to admit. I like to pride myself on a professional level of English, but sometimes I legitimately just don't care.

I had such a low voice as a kid that my teacher recommended speech therapy class. I went for a whole year before they realized that I just had a very deep voice for a child.

I'm not sure if it's a speech impediment or what, but I routinely mispronounce certain words when paired together. I say "radio rum" when I mean radio room, and "forest far" instead of forest fire, for example.

I speak far too fast and people have trouble understanding what I'm saying sometimes. I have to remind myself to slow down every now and again. :D
Besides that, I went through a phase when I was young (around 15, IIRC) of not being able to pronounce 'r' correctly - words like "bridge" would come out like "bwridge", sort of like a mix of 'r' and 'w'... it's hard to describe. I think it's called a rhotacism. I outgrew that, thankfully. :3
