Oi! I'm a fan. a lot of people don't like him but he's got just enough polish and put on to be mainstream and it's what I like. not saying he's bad. it's the same thing that happened with sierra Ferrell's debut when she was signed to rounder

charley crockett, colter wall, and sierra ferrell have all made a reasonable breakthrough in the past few years playing stuff i can actually enjoy. a few other up and comers are melissa carper, Vincent Neil Emerson, brennen leigh, emily nenni for traditional stuff from western to country to swing to honky tonk. tons of folks playing both kinds of music. stuff as fresh as it is nostalgic but without being problematic or pandering to the lowest common denominator/playing by the cma's rules
sorry im drinking and excited about country music

oh and Luke Bell God rest his Soul
he was a real one and was getting picked up by the mainstream and recorded and excellent LP in 2016 but he died last year after rambling too long and hard. but folks were writing about him like he was the next big thing. rip
