Someone linked to anontalk archived threads on TC and the topic IDs were in the 60k range.
That's the number TC is at now and we're not even twice that here. And these boards have been around well over ten years now. Anontalk barely made it beyond two.

Another thing I remember is seeing an archived screenshot of GHOUL. And the home page was more active than even the replies page of MC now. And that was of course a spin off community of a spin off of Anontalk.
What ever happened to the thread archives that iwantabro.com had? I wonder what the number of live topics there were near the end. I suspect the majority of them weren't deleted due to spam, but due to grammar. But I'd be interested in hearing what the numbers say if anyone still has that archive. Even better would be if it could be made available again.

Yeah absolutely. The place was certainly active in its heyday. In terms of posts/day, Minichan = 274, Tinychan = 145, AnonTalk = 478 (605 with deleted). (Although Minichan did lose about 1.5 years' worth of topics with the server crash...)
I still struggle to accept the fact AT only existed for ~2 years. It felt like a lot longer. In my head it was "just the other day" that it went offline—not 13 bloody years ago.

I have the same feeling. I think some of it is just getting older and the age many of us were back then, mostly young adults, some late adolescence. Those years seemed to pass more slowly (not necessarily in a bad way) and be more memorable than now. Now it seems like I blink and 5 years passes. Back then, people I knew irl for like 2 or 3 years it felt like I knew them for a lifetime and knew them so well too. Now it seems there are so many people in my life I've known so much longer but yet don't even really know them and would be more or less the same if we had never crossed paths to begin with.
