For example, the word "credit". Black people say "credick" instead of pronouncing it the correct way.

Any idea as to why this is? English isn't a very difficult language to grasp.

I’ve heard what OP’s referring to but it’s usually only black women with super long fingernails who speak that way.

I think a lot of Ebonics is put on. Like they willingly choose to mispronounce words as a way to signal their “culture”

I’ve heard AAVE where someone pronounces basketball but just left the letter T and letter K out and just adds an “ess” sound instead

So bassetball instead of basketball
