In the original animated film yes. I'm talking about the real life mermaid who got cursed by a sea witch and fell in love with a prince with the aid of a talking seagull and singing crab. What race was she?

Yes, Hans Christian Andersen almost certainly envisioned her as white but taking artistic liberties with/reimagining fairy tales is how Disney made its billions so I don't get the issue. I also just in general don't care about how things are depicted in art. Want to cast a disabled muslim Chinese transwoman as Julius Ceasar or Moses? Go for it! It literally doesn't matter.

So, you are clearly not the target audience and therefore your opinion doesn't matter.
What does matter is the opinions of the target audience, and in general these are extremely negative. The vast majority see through the bullshit race and gender swapping and are pissed off by it.

I am not the target audience for a remake of a children's musical movie, correct. If it's bad and divisive or whatever people won't see it and Disney will stop making movies like it and start making movies people want to see, because at the end of the day they're a business and exist to make their shareholders money.

Yes, that's what any sane person would think they'd do... except, astonishingly, they continue to repeat this mistake over and over again.
Snow White is already well on its way to being their next massive flop and it's still months away from being released. I wonder if they'll learn this time... something tells me they won't.

Then they will make a bunch of shitty movies for a while that no one sees. Which is fine by me, I wasn't about to go out and watch Snow White anyway.
