As a deputized constable, I believe that language holds immense power as it conveys thoughts, reflects our culture, and serves as a foundation for effective communication. It significantly impacts our thoughts and behaviors. If our goal is to construct a community that embraces diversity and respects differences, we must ensure that our language is inclusive.
While this primarily focuses on matters related to gender and sexuality, inclusive language stretches far beyond that. Here, we collaborate as a community to compile a compilation of phrases that should be refrained from using, along with explanations of why they are problematic and suggestions for suitable replacements.
