Topic: Why do the Indians get heralded for crossing a bridge from Asia when Europeans sailed the high seas?

Anonymous A started this discussion 2 years ago #111,986

In regards to discovering the Americas. The Indians didn't really discover anything, they just walked here hunting mammoths. The Europeans actually had to put thought and effort into it.

Why do people say the Indians "discovered" America?

The Polynesians found Taiwan hundreds of years before the Chinese.

I suppose if you only count discoveries approved by and funded by the king of england, there is no question that Europeans "discovered" it.

Getting lost on a walk isn't the mark of a civilization.

I discovered America when I was born. Everything that anyone did before me is irrelevant.

What about Vinland? I don't think the British crown had much to do with that one 🤔

Lol, do you really think Henry VII had anything to do with providing funds for Spanish / Portuguese expeditions?
