It won't explode, but it's not impossible that a sub could explode. You just need a rapid chemical reaction that produces more moles as output as it takes as input, as virtually all explosions do. Run it long enough and fast enough and you're risking an explosion as soon as the internal pressure exceeds the external.

Yes. And the more furry animals you have running around in an enclosed space, the more times they will collide with the walls of the chamber. And the number of times they collide with the walls of the chamber is directly related to the pressure they exert. More moles -> more pressure.
