Pretty much this, unless you think she'll take it somewhere to do a deep recovery or whatever it would be called, most of the data gets overwritten if you format it and do a clean install.

You can get a cracked windows key or just buy windows. Windows 10 Home keys are $10 bucks through 3rd party vendors, you’d just have to download an ISO of the install disc and burn the image to a physical disc or USB and then tell your bios to boot from the disk rather than HDD

If windows 10 has ever been installed on the machine you don't need a key, you just need an internet connection and it will self-activate by confirming hardware SN.
