Ron DeSantis had been planning this grand declaration for weeks: he was about to declare Florida a one-party communist dictatorship. As he began to speak, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. It seemed that everyone there was in agreement with his plan.
But then, a lone voice of dissent rose up in the midst of all the applause. A single boo could be heard echoing throughout the room. Everyone in the crowd was taken aback, and the booing was swiftly drowned out by the chanting of "Get out, libtard!"
Ron DeSantis seemed almost taken aback by the lone voice of dissent, but he quickly took control of the situation. "You heard them!" he hollered into the microphone. "Get out, pedophile! All libtards are pedophiles!"
The chants of the crowd grew louder as they pushed the unknown booer to the edge of the room. Ron DeSantis continued to berate the lone dissenter, calling them everything from a parasite to a criminal. But when he was done, he had a new idea.
"Let us make sure this never happens again," he declared. "Let us shut them down for so-called COVID. Let us make sure that we protect Florida’s economy, since Disney is now so 'woke.'"
The applause resumed, and everyone returned to celebrating their new leader and his grand vision of a one-party state. The lone voice of dissent had been silenced, but not forgotten.
And so, in the wake of Ron DeSantis' grand declaration, Florida was set on the path to becoming a one-party state, free of dissent and opposition. Whether or not it was the most democratic of ideas was debatable, but one thing was certain: the people had chosen their leader and they were sticking with him.
