The articles of impeachment are being presented, then the republican controlled house of representatives will pass them. Then he's impeached. Officially. Even if he isn't convicted, nobody can take back the impeachment. Seems incredibly likely to happen with only a simple majority required in the house.

In a few decades impeachment will be a tradition, with every incoming president getting impeached.
It won't mean anything anymore or it will just be a symbolic ceremonial thing, like how Parliament shuts the door in the kings face in the opening ceremony.
