Topic: The movie Children of Men was a metephor for 'progressives' spreading abortion and contraception.

The UK is represented as an authoritarian police state because when the book was written in 1992 the author did not think the country would change much by 2027.

China's population has now begun declining. India, now the world's most populous country also has birth rates below replacement. Same for Mexico and almost all of Central and South America. Africa is basically the only place in the world with consistently-above-replacement birth rates, yet their rates have been steadily falling for decades too.

We are rapidly approaching a world not unlike Children of Men.

Although I doubt abortion has much to do with it. The spreading of plastics, many of which are known to disrupt the endocrine system, I believe is the cause. It all lines up perfectly. Testosterone rates, and fertility have been falling for decades and line up perfectly with the rise of plastics. Notably, it also aligns with the global rise in obesity, which is also an effect confirmed in laboratory animals.

Birth control may also play a role, but probably an indirect one -- through contamination of the waterways.

Only on the face of it, if you actually think about the plot it's clearly a metaphor for liberalism.

Multiple times.

@previous (D)
Consumer culture (which causes more plastic production and use) is a byproduct of feminist hedonism. Obesity is feminist HAES propaganda.

Africa is the only continent that embraces literal, fundamentalist Christianity.

I doubt that plays much of a role. Even Muslim countries are experiencing steep declines in birth rates.

Plastics are everywhere. I think remote parts of Africa are the most likely to be unexposed, but even there plastics are finding a way in. Maybe fundamentalist Christianity has an effect of limiting the spread of commercial goods in these places, but I'd think the same could be said for Muslim countries as well. And I think that effect only goes so far. North Africa, for one, seems only a few decades behind the trends in the West. And Central and South Africa are just another decade or two behind North Africa.

Remote parts of India are also highly conservative, but that hasn't been enough to reverse the tide.

Men become infertile and society collapses into crime and depression and apathy

The last generation of young people become a gang that basically act as stage coach robbers

Britain fights hard to keep out illegal immigrants and cages them like animals

The youngest person ever born is a man and is treated like a celebrity for doing nothing but being alive. He's a douchebag and is murdered after denying someone an autograph

A black pregnant woman who is an illegal alien is humanitys hope for the future. Shes pregnant with a little girl who will save the world. The baby has no father (figuratively)

You're taking a conservative movie and reading a woke agenda into it.

Liberals are antinatalists. They always have been, don't switch it around here.

Just like all English professors, they see some meaningless description like "the curtains were blue" and ascribe multipage essays about how it was a representation of the author's depression.

Children of Men is how true catholics see the world today, but liberals won't see it until it's already too late and western society has been supplanted by blasians and mestizos.

It's a pretty straightforward story about how the UK is a depraved shithole country. No offense to the English ofc.
