I'm working on getting my autism disability status with the NHS so I can finally get on the dole. They're telling me I have to see (another) psychiatrist and then they have to meet with my case worker. Sounds like a long process. Is there a shorter way? Was your experience any easier?

I waited a year or just under a year for the diagnosis. Loads of people are getting diagnosed with autism these days. They make you do puzzles and read a story and stuff.

Interesting. How many quid a month do you get? My mate got all setup with his diagnosis and even managed to get a nice council flat (believe it or not). He's unlikely to need to work another day of his life. Although autism is only one of several of his diagnoses.
