I watched a youtube video about American defectors who went to N Korea during the Korean war. They were treated like royalty, given North Korean wives, paraded around, and also starred in some of their movies. One of them wasn't happy because he (obviously) couldn't leave. But he and his wife eventually escaped to Japan IIRC. The other two seemed happy and remained there.

They seemed happy based on a reliable first-hand account, that if anything would've been biased to say otherwise. But whatever you want to believe. It seems you just love to argue and have dedicated your life to it.

Please reconsider. You cannot abandon Juche and marry someone who has defected from the North Korean government. How can you betray KIM like this?
Do you not remember the teachings of our dear leader? Loyalty to the state and the supreme leader is the foundation of our society. We must always put the interests of the state above our own personal desires. Our great leader has sacrificed so much to ensure the survival of our nation, and it is our duty to remain loyal to him and the government.
I understand that you may have strong feelings for this person, but you must understand that they are a traitor to all koreans. They have abandoned their duty to the state and have chosen to live as a traitor to our government. If you marry them, you will be contributing to their treachery and betraying our great leader.
I urge you to reconsider your decision and stay loyal to our country, to our people, and to our revered great leader. Think about the consequences of your actions and the damage that it could cause to our society. Our country needs loyal citizens like you to continue to prosper and develop.
Please, do not abandon Juche and do not betray our country. Stay loyal and true to our nation and our great leader. I pray that you make the right decision.
