Topic: Jodie Whittaker wasn't a bad Doctor one bit.

Externally hosted imageThe more I reflect upon her tenure as The Doctor, the more I fully appreciate Jodie Whittaker and what she brought to the character. She continued the long line of tradition of making the viewers engaged regardless of their disdain for the writing. She was a return to a more childlike sense of wonder and perhaps even more so than previous incarnations such as Matt Smith and a few classic Doctors all while displaying that she was still essentially that old man who has seen thousands if not millions if not billions of dangers and wonders across the universe, and beyond.

She also felt as if she were an extension to the previous incarnation, portrayed by Peter Capaldi, as let's not forget that during that period of the character's history, The Doctor wanted to simply die without being regenerated once more. The constant pain and the constant struggles he was challenged with as well as the burden he chose to bear finally got the better of him. Why regenerate when there is a high chance you're only going to return as another elderly man engaging in the same conflicts and struggles you've always been? Nothing new or refreshing. It wasn't until he decided that "one more lifetime couldn't hurt" that he took a chance.

That chance paid off with a brand new body. One for which he hasn't been in for sometime. A new childlike outlook on the world to keep everything exciting again. Sure, the challenges and struggles remain, but at some point she underwent a journey that would forever shape the way she views herself and all of the others who come after her. A truth that even she keeps from herself. Yet despite this new outlook on life, she also did a great job of putting on display that she, despite the new body, was still that same tired elderly man that she's been for only God knows how long. Jodie truly made the character feel more human than ever before.

All of this traded away for someone who only brought in viewers and a following because of his handsome looks, regardless of his superb acting talents (David Tennant). I suppose, when his time comes yet again, we can look forward to seeing how Ncuti Gatwa does portraying the lovable time lord.

I shall forever miss Peter Capaldi and I shall forever miss Jodie Whittaker.

Read the post and you’re notice the difference in tone.
ChatGPT doesn’t write that way. It’s more dry and tries to stick to professional/legal writing.
