Bert has such specific unending interest, thanks for the id. this will go a long way to validate the quality of the correlation analysis from modeling. i'm using Spearman's Rank and Kendal's Rank for correlation assessment to match against Pearson's coefficient to ensure the highest possible strength and direction of the association between the variables given when Renyi entropy reduces to the Shannon Entropy and match known positive identifications. it's a widely used measure of the uncertainty or randomness in a probability distribution. pattern recognition is a highly complex form of correlation analysis and positive ids are the gold standard for curve fitting and like noise reduction is the same as going from a Tv picture of pure static and cancelling all the snow and having a clear HD signal across all bands.
tbh, there's no reason for me to keep it a secret what i'm actually building, it's same kind of statistical tool the NSA uses to model for pattern recognition and probabilistic behavior modeling to associate encrypted volumes pulled from communications with sources obscured by encrypted communications, vpn usage, etc.
the admin of course only has limited visibility firewalled by endpoint nodes of source traffic, i.e. vpn and proxy limited ability to identify and associate any single user to activity by ip address and UID. and diligent segregation of UID and ip defeats certainty and they have to rely on their own gut instinct like everyone else, which is why misidentification is a meme around here and "everyone is matt" holds as such a meaningful assertion.
but it won't. to better than 99.9% certainty with behavior modeling descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, bayesian analysis and data visualisation with scalar plots and time associated heat mapping.
