1. Go to a dance at the Blue Moon Saloon. Choose a night with Cajun or Zydeco music. You'll meet locals and see our culture. Someone will teach you how to do those dances and you might even meet a cute Cajun girl (or trans if that is your thing).
2. Eat at Don's Seafood Hut on Johnston Street. Get some raw oysters, gumbo, and whatever else you want.
3. Go to Vermilionville: https://bayouvermiliondistrict.org/vermilionville/ for a history walk and a dance party.
4. Take a Lake Martin kayaking tour! You get to canoe among all the gators!
5. Take a swamp tour on the Atchafalaya basin. Go to a dance at McGee's landing
Basically, we love to eat, drink, and dance. As for New Orleans, you'll find plenty of things to do online. I suggest a ghost tour for sure.

Yes. It's a lovely little town, a couple hours' drive north of Lafayette. Worth a day trip. Have you been to the US before? Because our towns are different from Europeans ones. You need a car here.

Seriously, skip out on Don's and the swamp tour. Actually, just skip out of the state entirely if you can. Stick to the West or East coasts of the country. Thank me later.
