It's well over now. No one's worried. Just wanted to discuss it. I'd never experienced an earthquake before. They've already upgraded it to a 5.9 in Virginia and they're saying it was felt as far away as Toronto and Ohio.

I think about the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti and the 9.0 earthquake in Japan, and I know a 5.9 isn't as bad, but the fact that we have no deaths and not even any injuries reported so far is great. I think it shows that the infrastructure we have in this country is pretty damn good.

Take Japan's meltdown for instance. Part of the problem was they didn't have any backup generators. There's a nuclear plant right at the epicenter and it's perfectly fine because we engineered it for disasters like this.

Well... Japan is used to earthquakes. A 9.0 followed by THE MOTHERFUCKING SEA SWALLOWING YOUR ISLAND is a little unexpected. The fact that the death toll was in the thousands (for such a populated area) is really a testament to what could have been.
