McDonald's brings back more healthier options to their menu
Fast-food giant McDonald's announced today that the Southwest Chicken Salad is back on its menu, much to the delight of health-conscious customers. The salad had been removed from the menu in 2020 due to the pandemic, but now the popular dish has made a much-awaited return.
The Southwest Chicken Salad has been a fan favorite since its introduction in 2015. It consists of a bed of mixed greens, topped with grilled chicken, roasted corn, black beans, tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese. The salad is then finished off with a creamy southwest dressing that is both flavorful and healthy.
"We are thrilled to be bringing back the Southwest Chicken Salad," said McDonald's spokesperson, Laura Garcia. "Our customers have been asking for it, and we are happy to provide more healthy options to our menu."
The reintroduction of the Southwest Chicken Salad is part of McDonald's ongoing efforts to provide more healthy choices to its customers. The company has been steadily adding more salads and other low-calorie options to its menu over the past few years.
"We understand that our customers want to make healthier choices, and we are committed to providing them with the options they need to do so," said Garcia.
McDonald's has also been taking steps to reduce the calorie count in some of its most popular menu items. Last year, the company announced that it would be reducing the calories in its French fries by 20%.
The Southwest Chicken Salad is now available at participating McDonald's locations nationwide. Customers can also order the salad through the McDonald's app for easy pickup and delivery.
"We are excited to offer the Southwest Chicken Salad once again and hope that our customers enjoy this tasty and healthy option," said Garcia. "We are committed to continuing to provide more healthy choices to our menu in the future."
