Find some kindling - Old books, porn magazines, unpaid bills, carpet fluff, whatever you can scrape together. Chop up any furniture you have and begin piling it all in the center of the room. When this is accomplished, pile the kindling around it. Do all this quickly before the cricket begins to catch on to your plan.
Grab some food and a warm blanket, and put it in a backpack. Pack only what you need to survive! Before you leave, set the room ablaze. Show no fear. It is important that the cricket believes you are willing to sacrifice everything.
Then run. Run as fast as you can. Don't look back.
