This seems better: https://lostallhope.com/suicide-methods/carbon-monoxide-co-poisoning
> In the Peaceful Pill Handbook2, Nitschke details a method of creating a reaction chamber which generates high concentrations of CO by dripping 85% formic acid into concentrated (98%) sulphuric acid. It is claimed this chamber can achieve peaceful death within a matter of minutes if used in an enclosed space like a car

Carbon monoxide ought to be more reliable than just breathing in helium. Because if the helium, or whatever you use runs out, you'll start breathing oxygen again and potentially survive.
Carbon monoxide is different because it binds to hemoglobin with much higher affinity than oxygen. It can take up to 12 hours for a molecule of carbon monoxide to unbind.
This means that even if your source of CO runs out or is interrupted and you resume breathing room air, you will still die if you've inhaled enough CO.

Thank you.

Wait, doesn't it cause a bad headache while you are still conscious?

Headache is the most common symptom of acute carbon monoxide poisoning; it is often described as dull, frontal, and continuous.[37]

12,800 ppm (1.28%), (12.8‰): Unconsciousness after 2–3 breaths. Death in less than three minutes.

Helium is headache free:

Ok. idc. Kill yourself however you please.

If it were me, I'd take the chance of a brief headache above the chance of running out of helium, surviving, and being permanently brain damaged.

I mean, there are ways to guarantee you don't run out of helium.

Are you an expert in regulating flow rates and doing the right flow rate calculations to make sure of this?
With CO, you don't need to worry about flow rates. You only need to inhale enough CO whether that be in one minute, or thirty.

I mean, couldn't you just as easily run out of CO?

It's a lot easier to just bring in another charcoal grill, or just buy more than enough formic and sulphuric acid than figuring out how to feed a gas mask with multiple tanks simultaneously and getting all the flow rates correct. But if you're an expert in such things, then by all means.

I am not an expert, but I can't see how a giant tank of helium and a pipe could go wrong.
