so we're only 40 or so years behind black people. Ida guessed 60 tbh. we're still pre-civil rights protections and there's not really trans actors on network tv. even Corky the downs syndrome kid had his own show in the 80s. hill street blues had black cop in the 70s? early 80s. breaking through those race barriors and arresting white people like that was okay back then. and the was black doctor on ER who saved the kkk guy in the 90s and they had a moment of thankful respect thrown his was. 3s company was mocking gays well into the 80s, but people love the campy humor which oddly helped, I guess because the landlords thought he was gay and allowed him to still live there, that was the whole theme of the show. well, that and just chauvenism all around. back when that was promoted as the ideal over fairys. i guess mash had Klinger, and they did make a point of him NOT being section 8, so it wasn't crazy. and he did it pretty much the entire Korean war. so. clearly he was having some serious investment in the idea. section 8 was just excuse though. it was just so oddly halfassed, never shaved his legs, but really did a good job pulling together an outfit. very thorough, tiny hats with veils, snappy purse, matching kicks. gloves. except also the legs of an ostrich and arms like an Italian butcher. bosom buddies. everyone loves Tom hanks in drag in 85, but too woke for today, probably spark bombing or something these days. I guess because they were straight it was fine. trans lesbians would have been a no go, even if they didn't really make it a plot point, still probably not. tootsie. see, Dustin Hoffman did it right, full assed, Klinger could have looked way less war torn Korea with a safety razor. but tootsie was really only about the difficulties women faced when discrimination was sexism and when he revealed he was not a woman he got a standing ovation. so nothing really ground breaking there it was just a contrivance to talk about women as sex object and not as gay shit no one cares about, or penis alarms.
will and grace made gays awesome in the 90s. gay was trending popularly after that which is good for then, 25 years after they were in the stonewall riots - which actually started over drag queens and led to the gays appropriating pride. bitches. they've not historically been the best allies, I think they were kinda mad about lgb adding the t. theyre not the same, but, it was more for access to health services, the gaysvhave always been pretty uppity about trans. some. most are fine with it, but still, 20 years ago I could take 2 trans porn stars to Cafe brazil without gays throwing food at us and catching hands. some, not all. most were cool. uh.... yeah, then I mean ru paul's reality show, but the trans murder rate skyrocketed in 2000s for well, 20 years. so there was a lack of a crossdressing and trans people being mocked, well, Mrs Doubtfire, but Robin Williams was trans. its why he cut out. oh, the birdcage. Nathan lane. gotta love that.
orange is the new black. outstanding. because she was outstanding in that role. I guess she's basically hill street blues black cop in Orange is the new Black. so, we'll be black doctor in 10 years? or 15 probably because even after blacks and gays and women and the whole cultural shift towards ACTUALLY NO ONE GIVING A FUCK if someone is black everyone is STILL content to just be 100% tolerant of friends and neighbors under the jack boot and denied rights - I lived in a hotel for a year because finding employment and rent property is kinda squirrelly in Dallas, of course we still get kicked out of gay bars as recent as 2019. fuck the gayberhood tho. not all of them, but some. oh, Rocky horror Pic show. yeah, no, that was gross. more about flamboyant gays than transwomen. had that sweaty, mam-on-man leathervdaddy vibe throughout, idk what boots or lyric from a song about erections they sang calling him trans all that was for was to rhyme with transylvania. the who thing was about flamboyant power bottom gay twinks. hated that one.
Pricilla queen of the desert. tu Wong too which was really pretty good. even my dad liked that. first time I raised an eyebrow tbh, like, really? hmm, ok.
OH, crying game, of course, that's what happened. that set us back easily a decade. FUCK that movie.
boys dont cry.
a response to the crying game pretty much. but the damage was done even if this one shows what damage comes from propagating the idea MEN are the ones threatened by traps. shit pissed me off. I was 14, yeah, any hope I had was boofed.
there were others. I mean, yeah, that's not all bad. mostly anything before to Wong fo, boys dont cry, meh, mockery and unrealistic bigotry or just unrelated. maybe 10, 15 years we'll just be any other gay black or minority is around now. better than I'd guess - we'll see.
I wanna go see Haymaker. that looks good.
oh, but yeah, I mean, ur dying and a trans shows up to save you and you just say no thanks, I mean, I dont wanna touch a bigot, but I'll make sure you mean it and then leave. I'll hope u live, try to not die, but I'll let you I guess if you wanna make a point? but maybe just stop driving the oxcart filled with the next target of popular witch trials, calm done, nurses wear latex gloves yoo.

Cafe brazil. it used to be like right next door to the village Station on Oak Lawn Ave.
And yes. actually, it was a really magical evening.
we went out a few times.
also happened to know these ladies at different times through the years: Blair Jirousek, aubrey kate, jaquoline Braxton, Carrie emberlyn, Bronx
some I knew better than others. met socially, different settings. and Hazel Tucker was cool. I can't remember some other names. but, yeah. mostly at S4 or Jr's or sue Ellen's. just gayberhood clubs. yup. why, you want their numbers?
