Matt Miller is an exciting, viable candidate for the US Presidency in the year 2020, on the Democrat ticket. The motto of our campaign is Progress by Principle. This motto represents the exciting and dual aspects of the campaign's mission. First, we believe in change and progress in those areas where it is necessary. For too long, conservatism has represented resistance to change at all cost, even where change is so obviously needed. But on the other hand, rampant, extreme liberalism, which wants to change everything -- even things that work well -- for no reason other than change itself, destabilizes a society. Thus, change must be tempered by principle, by core, foundational beliefs from which specific laws and ideas come.
It is this dedication to Progress by Principle that makes Matt Miller a different candidate for President. Why leaning more toward a conservative worldview than a liberal one, Matt Miller still believes that modern conservatism has betrayed its roots of rugged individualism, of tapping the potential of the individual. And while he agrees with some of the tenets of the liberal view, such as the obligation of government to help the poor, he does not believe than an ever-growing government, and enormous government programs to regulate every aspect of life, are fundamentally American.
But neither is Matt Miller a centrist, a moderate who takes a milquetoaste approach to every issue, floundering without taking a stand, a slave to polls. Matt Miller is truly a compassionate conservative, believing in the worth and freedom of the individual, but also the responsibility of the government to care for the needy and the suffering.
