I guess this question is kind of for Falco too. Do you listen to the shit you make? I wish I can pay you $500 for all songs you have ever and will ever make.

If you tour, I would imagine having to perform your own songs a few hundred times before they fall out of vogue in a very small period of time would make you get sick of your own output quickly.

That's what I would think, but it makes me wonder. Especially artists with hundreds of songs. Oh, and what about artists that sound similar? Do you think they listen to them?

Well, yes, they have hundreds of songs; if they're on tour, though, they're probably only going to play a few of their biggest hits and fill out the rest of the concert with songs from whatever album they're promoting. They might listen to their old material occasionally, but I imagine they get more than enough play of their newer songs.

They didn't just spend a year fine-tuning every single element of the songs on a related band's new album. Much like how I can write a few hundred pages of a fantasy novel until my eyes start to chafe, and immediately take a break by reading some other novel with the exact same general plot outline. It's not your words, your music, your hard work; no matter how similar it is, you can still get lost in suspension of disbelief (or whatever you call the musical equivalent).

True. Interesting thing to think about. I wish I could talk to some artists and get their input and what they listen to.

I know a music producer who does tracks for pretty big people and he listens to his own songs sometimes.

I wonder if I would do that. I mean, if I made songs I would make music that I would wanna listen to. So maybe that's how it is?

I'm not sure about most artists, but I know of one guy who doesn't listen to what he makes after it's been finished.

i have listened to my own music until i accidentally it and it's not here anymore :(
