I've never experienced a headache outside of an ice headache (I'm ironically very sensitive to those). But other than that, not one headache ever, not even a minor headache. That being said I've often heard super micro doses of psilocybin help many people who suffer from regular headaches. Even very tiny amounts can greatly reduce frequency.

I'm pretty sure it's a medication I'm taking. I suspect it has to do with my jaw clenching, which is a common side effect of the medication and is definitely something I'm experiencing more since starting it. It seems when I make a conscious effort to keep my jaw relaxed, I don't get headaches, but of course it's hard to remind myself of that 24/7. I'm going to ask my doctor to switch me to another medication next time I see him. I wanted to try to ride this one out because it seemed to be helping me but at this point I'm just tired of the headaches.

What is an ice headache?
Isn't the psychedelic thing for cluster headaches? I'm not sure if it works as a generalized headache relief. There are so many different causes of them...

Is it at least making you more chipper?
Apparently some studies show people rate antidepressants with side-effects as more effective than those without. So in some placebo-controlled studies, the placebo isn't a sugar pill, but rather some compound like niacin that causes physical reactions but is otherwise inert. Not that you asked. Or care.

I wouldn't go as far as to say chipper, but certainly less depressed. That's why I wanted to stick it out in hopes that the headaches would eventually go away or I would learn to manage them, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. That's interesting about the placebo pills, I didn't know that.

Do you wake up with headaches? I wonder if there's some type of mouth guard you could use when you sleep and maybe gum or something in the day? It'd suck to have to switch to a new medication if you found something that works. Seems like a lot people really struggle to find anything remotely effective, probably because so many antidepressants are absolute trash just like much of the so-called science that goes into the drug development.

No headache.
@previous (E)
Often times I wake up with them, and sometimes they develop as the day goes on. I haven't considered a mouth guard since I don't really grind my teeth, there is just a constant tension in how I hold my jaw. It's hard to describe. It's worth a try though.

I remember this one time my dad mentioned experiencing these headaches and I heard nothing of it till a week or so later he showed me a jar and a tumor was in it then he lifted his shirt and showed me one of his sides just above the hip was stitches and shit

No headache.
@previous (G)
The only reason I'm not worried about that is that just a couple years ago I had a health scare that resulted in me having all sorts of tests done, including an MRI on my brain, looking for tumors. That's not to say a tumor can't develop in that time, but the headaches lining up with starting the new medicine makes me think that's the cause. Sorry to hear about your dad though.

Occasionally is normal. But I seem to cycle through periods of no headaches and of constant headaches that last a few days to a couple weeks. I had had a headache several days in a row when I started this thread to track them. I've been pretty lucky the last two weeks, so I expect to have another multi day headache marathon soon.

No, I usually avoid caffeine. Funny enough though, I've found that caffeine is one of the few things that helps alleviate my more minor headaches. I always make sure to take a small amount and avoid taking it regularly so that I don't build up a tolerance or a dependence though, since that would probably just add to the problem instead of help.

I had a pharmacist explain to me that it's because it's a vasodilator, but after an extensive 3-minute Google search I think that's untrue.

It's a vasoconstrictor, not a vasodilator, which is why it helps with certain headaches that are caused by increased blood flow around the brain.

I did an extensive 15 minute Phd-level Google search dissertation on headaches and I can tell you surprisingly little is known about what causes most headaches.
