Being offended means they don't have to engage in dialogue and reveal the contradictions in their ideology, it's an effective tactic.

Conservatives don't need to do this, their ideas stand up to scrutiny.

Conservatives can/do get offended just by different things at different times than liberals do. See the Moral Majority which used to be a big mover in American politics. A more recent example of conservatives being offended might be Drag Queen Story Hour/"groomer" accusations.
