One of my favorite character actors is Karl Urban. I first enjoyed him on Xena and now he has managed to branch out in quite a few action movies.He always seems to do a great job even in shitty films and I'm glad when he gets work.

My favourite roll is that of Dr. Martin Ellingham, in a series called Doc. Martin. He is a emminant Surgeon who delevopes a phobia to blood and ends up working as a GP in a Cornish fishing village. His manner is brusque and intollerant and he treats his patients with distain but he is a brilliant Doctor. He falls in and out of love with the local school teacher. Lots of lovely west country characters complete the stories. The series has recently finished but repeats can be seen on some our freeview channels. Currently he is doing a nature/travelogue series. I couldn't agree more! He's done such little work that I've liked him in, The Basketball Diaries, The Fighter and The Other Guys are the only things I can think of he was good in. Mark was excellent in The Fighter though, also really good in The Other guys, which happens to be one of the very few Will Ferrel films that's watchable.

I loved him on SNL, I really like Stepbrothers, Elf, I liked his Ricky Bobby character even though Talledega Nights could have been better, He had a lot of funny lines in "Old School" and ran naked which was great because he's really doughy, and the Landlord videos that he made with Pearl were really cute.

I have only seen one but it was good. Swimming with Manta rays. Some great photography but not outstanding, I just like him. Nothing pretentious about him. He is a bit overweight and ugly as sin but comes over as a really nice guy.
