Help me out guys. Ktorrent works great, but it pulls in way to many KDE dependencies and uTorrent for Linux has only has a web interface which I'm not big on.
Any suggestions. Obvious, reliable downloads are priority, followed closely by transmission speed.

Transmission is a great balance of resource use, performance, and configuration options.
I have it set up to watch my ~/Downloads folder for new torrents, which is very convenient.

There's good old java-heavy azureus. Deluge is a torrent client done in python, IIRC. Both of these are okay and should be in the repos.

Forget azureus, not big on being forced to add more memory just to run a torrent client. I'm going to give Deluge a shot. Transmission is great, but it's just too simple and too hard on the eyes for my taste.

I recommend Transmission, though I hear good things about Deluge as well. And protip (The expression, not the person. The person is free to feel included anyway, though): See about setting up flexget combined to automatically download episodes of series you follow.

Here is the (totally non-optimal) config I use together with Transmission to watch a directory for new .torrent files and MediaTomb to stream all movie files over my LAN (it's on a headless box): http://pastebin.com/S47fdbXU (need to add more shows to that list but you get the point)
