Topic: despite new president, Philippines continues to fight drug addiction by killing users in the street

often once dragged out of their homes. 10 thousand dead later, the problem remains that some of the police also happen to be selling the drugs, so there is a conflict of interest. I supposed tacking the opioid overdose problem by killing the users before they have a chance to overdose keeps the overdose numbers down. Should your country persue similar tactics?

The drug crisis could be solved overnight if they legalized all drugs and let users buy controlled uncut dosages at the chemist.

It will never happen because the people profiting off of desperate junkies and the people controlling the government are one in the same.

A lot has changed in the past 15 years with drug laws. I think it could happen, but it will probably be dumber than any of us could ever imagine. Like requiring "medical supervision" or other needless gatekeepers. That way all the rent-seekers out there can still get a steady flow of cash and, failing that, a steady flow of people to continue throwing into prison. Add in a few manufactured controversies about children, not unlike the whole scare about flavored vape juice appealing to children that we're already seeing, and I think you'll get a rough idea how things may play out.
